Assigned Certifier
ASSIGNED CERTIFIER
Since March 2014, under Building Control legislation it is mandatory for building owners to appoint an Assigned Certifier for qualifiying construction projects carried out on their building.
O’Brien Design’s knowledge of this area will be invaluable to your project.
What is an Assigned Certifier?
An Assigned Certifier is a registered professional qualified to serve the Commencement Notice, then lodge plans and particulars with the Building Control Management System.
Why do I need an Assigned Certifier?
The appointed professional is responsible for overseeing, inspecting and certifying compliance with Building Regulations. Building Regulations are legislated for under the Building Control Act. Current regulations have introduced tighter controls and require a particular standard.
What else does Building Control legislation require?
The legislation affects all buildings and works requiring a Fire Safety Certificate, new dwellings as well as extensions to dwellings greater than 40m sq.
How can O’Brien Design help you?
As a Registered Building Surveyor, David is qualified and certified to carry out the role of Assigned Certifier for you.
David provides a one-stop shop from planning through to tendering, construction and completion in compliance with current building regulations.
What if I already have Planning Permission?
David can also act as Assigned Certifier in this instance.
